The EXP-EMGBALL-LED2-100W-480V.1P from Larson Electronics is an Explosion Proof Emergency Battery Backup System that works with LED lighting systems to create an emergency lighting system. This battery backup system is encased in a Class I Division 1 cast aluminum enclosure that is also IP67 rated waterproof and can be used in both indoor and outdoor applications. The EXP-EMGBALL-LED2-100W-480V.1P is compatible with the Larson Electronics EXP-EMG series of one lamp, two lamp and three lamp mason jar exit lights and bug eye signs.
The EXP-EMGBALL-LED2-100W-480V.1P operates a maximum load of 20 W at unity power factor. It allows the connected fixture(s) to be on, off, switched or dimmed without affecting emergency operation. Each unit consists of a high-temperature nickel-cadmium battery, charger and electronic circuitry in a Class I Division 1 explosion proof cast aluminum case that is also IP67 waterproof and can be used in both indoor and outdoor applications.
The EXP-EMGBALL-LED2-100W-480V.1P supports emergency illumination for a minimum of 90 minutes. At a maximum of 20 W at unity power factor, the EXP-EMGBALL-LED2-100W-480V.1P will provide input power to ballasted lamp supporting it at 100% of the AC rated output throughout the 90-minute emergency illumination period. Upon failure of normal power, the ballast instantly begins providing emergency power to the connected lighting load for a minimum of 90 minutes. A solid-state low voltage disconnect circuit protects the inverter battery from severe damage by deep discharge during prolonged power failures. When normal power is restored, the EXP-EMGBALL-LED2-100W-480V.1P automatically returns to charge mode. The battery capacity is fully restored in 24 hours. The ballast does not affect normal fixture operation and may be used with a switched or unswitched fixture. It can be installed in close proximity to the fixture or remote from the fixture (up to 250 feet).
