Larry Coryell (born Lorenz Albert Van DeLinder; April 2, 1943-February 19, 2017) was an American jazz guitarist known as the "Godfather of Fusion". He was one of the pioneers of jazz-fusion with his group The Eleventh House. He recorded numerous albums on the Vanguard label all through the 1970s. The album Basics was originally released in 1976. It features Mike Mandel, Ron Carter, Chuck Rainey & Bernard Purdie.
