' Product Overview '
The Larson Electronics SPLED-CL1B-AT.DNS-MOD1 Solar Powered LED Beacon is a Class I, innovative lighting solution suited for applications requiring a high visibility strobing beacon capable of stand-alone operation. This unit is visible at distances up to one mile and offers 30 different strobing patterns. Equipped with 10` of 16/2 SOOW cord for connection to customer-provided equipment, the LED strobe light comes with a day/night sensor and timer. The SPLED-CL1B-AT.DNS-MOD1 produces a brilliant strobing flash that is visible at distances up to one mile. A 14.4-watt LED strobe light is powered by two 8aH sealed lead acid batteries that automatically recharges during daylight hours by a 30-watt solar panel. The 30-watt solar panel recharges the battery in 5 hours with direct sunlight and can power the beacon for 12 hours with a full charge. As with all solar powered equipment, charging time is affected by the amount of available ambient light. When ambient light levels drop below a certain level, such as on very cloudy days, the unit will not recharge. The solar panel is weatherproof and designed to catch the maximum amount of sunlight possible when properly mounted. This solar panel is configured to operate via a day/night sensor and timer, ensuring the LED unit is only activated at night. Upon activation, the LED strobe light will turn on and stay on for the duration set on the timer. The timer features a selectable range of 30 seconds - 15 minutes.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life. LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated.

External Activation: The SPLED-CL1B-AT.DNS-MOD1 comes with 10 feet of 16/2 SOOW cord with a blunt-cut end for external activation/control. The cord can be connected to gates, float devices and other customer-provided equipment. Batteries/Mount: The sealed lead acid battery pack is contained within the solar panel, not the light. The mounting apparatus is designed to allow a variety of mounting options including flat surfaces such as a wall and square or round pole mounting. The beacon is connected to the panel by a 20 foot SOOW cord that provides flexibility for positioning of the solar panel and beacon into their respective optimum locations independently of each other. The waterproof beacon with this unit has a black powder coated die cast base that contains a fully potted circuit board. A clear polycarbonate lens protects the LED assembly and the housing is waterproof, shock resistant and built for reliable and durable operation. The beacon consists of an LED lamp that draws only 1.2 amps and is capable of producing 30 different strobing flash patterns that are visible for more than one mile. The Class I, LED beacon offers several different mounting options. A standard 100lbs grip magnetic mount, 1” NPT pipe mount and a surface mount option. Additional Options: Further options include larger batteries and different lights, additional mounting options and different length connecting cords. The SPLED-CL1B-AT.DNS-MOD1 Solar Powered LED Beacon is an ideal solution for applications which require an effective obstacle/hazard/warning light, location strobe, attention getting or marker light that have limited or no access to external power sources such as in rural locations or marine environments.
